Harry Victor Halberg, age 79, died peacefully of Pancreatic Cancer on October 17, 2019, at home in Maple Plain, MN. Harry is survived by his wife Norma of Maple Plain, MN; his daughter, Melissa Stone (Steve) of Montrose, MN; his daughter, Marie Anderson of Waverly, MN; his son Eric Halberg (Michelle) of Las Vegas, NV; his sister Diane Dulong (William) of Chisholm, MN; his brother Ben Halberg (Marlys) of Cedar Rapids, IA; his brother Dale Halberg (Mary Lou) of Independence, IA; his brother David Halberg (Karen) of Brooklyn Center, MN; his brother James Halberg (Lois, deceased) of Buhl, MN. He is preceded in death by his son Jerry and sister Yvonne. Harry was born on August 7, 1940 in Staples, MN to parents Vic and Helen Halberg. He was quite a jack of all trades, but his true passion was welding and woodworking which he had labored for 20+ years. A few of his other jobs included working in the iron ore mines, building tanks for Satellite Industries pump trucks, and in the later years, he worked in the produce department of MPFC, a local grocery store in Maple Plain, MN. Harry was a great family man and a loving father. He married Norma on August 30, 1974. Harry was a man of few words, but the words he did speak were filled with wisdom and love. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, working on the farm in Hutchinson, and watching his favorite Westerns. His family and friends will always remember him as a generous and kind, family man. A funeral is scheduled for Sunday, November 3rd, 2 p.m., at Hutchinson Seventh Day Adventist Church (820 Main St. N, Hutchinson, MN 55350) with a reception to follow.
