Betty Lou Allen Obituary

Betty Lou Allen, age 97 of Wayzata.  Mother, wife, grandma, aunt and friend to everyone she met, passed away on November 20, 2025 peacefully in her sleep. Born December 17, 1927 in Bogu Chitto, Mississippi, the daughter Ernest and Ruby Boyd. Betty Lou was the oldest girl of ten children. After her father passed away her mother moved to California and remarried Rex Miller joining two families of nine brothers and one sister.

During her life Betty Lou loved all kinds of sports, fishing, basketball, and especially golf where she had a rare experience of getting a hole in one while living in Florida. Betty’s happiest times were spent with her son John West fishing and also while traveling with her second husband Craig Allen who she always called “the love of her life”. She was predeceased by her brothers James, Bill, Doug, Terry, Curtis, Dicky, Mack, Ernie, Glenn Miller, and her one sister Clarice as well as her first husband Mel West, her beloved son, John West, and the love of her life Craig Allen. Following Craig’s death, Betty Lou moved back to MN from Michigan with her son John. She lived a full, long life; brought joy to her “like daughter” and her family and many friends whom she literally became mom, grandma, mentor, and angel to. She will be sorely missed and in our hearts forever. We all love you Betty Lou! At Betty’s request there is a private service.
