Carroll Gabriel Obituary

Carroll Edward Gabriel, September 26, 1932 – May 21, 2022.Carroll Edward Gabriel, 89, of Maple Plain, MN, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2022 at his life-long home on Lake Independence, surrounded by his wife and children. As a servant-leader, Carroll’s life was a testament of his relationship with Jesus. He embodied Philippians 2:3-4 which says, “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interest but each of you to the interests of others.” Born in Omaha, Nebraska, Carroll moved to Maple Plain with his parents and sister in 1945 and graduated from Mound High School in 1950. Carroll served in the Army from 1953 – 1955. In 1959, Carroll married the love of his life, Marlaine Minks, and spent 62 years together at their home on the lake. For more than 40 years, Carroll operated Gabriel Drywall and continued to help family with construction projects well into his 80’s. Those who knew “Gabe” will always remember his willingness to lend a helping hand, his witty humor and his unwavering faith. Carroll is survived by his wife, Marlaine and three children:  Carolynn (Todd) Stave, Gregg (Kristin) Gabriel, Wendy (Nate) Jerde; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A celebration of life will take place Thursday, May 26 at 11 a.m. at Maple Plain Community Church. Visitation begins at 10 a.m.
