David Bowden Obituary

Bowden, David “Bowdy” formerly of Minneapolis, Minnetonka Beach, Fargo ND, Mound MN, and Los Angeles CA, suddenly passed away on July 3, 2020 at the age of 51. Dave was born April 9, 1969 in St.Paul, MN and was adopted by Linda and Clayton “Stoney” Bowden in October 1969. Dave was a “superstar” athlete by the time he could walk, and never saw a ball he didn’t love. Even more than his athletic prowess, Dave’s greatest talent was friendship and love for so many. Dave graduated from Orono High School, in 1987, setting many football records that remain today. Dave went on to play football for North Dakota State and graduated in 1992 where he added to his many life-long friends. Dave had a career in project management before moving out to the west coast for several years. While in Minnesota, Dave especially enjoyed being a referee for Fletcher’s broomball games. Dave is proceeded in death by his father, Clayton “Stoney” Bowden and is survived by his mother, Linda Menth, step-father Mike Menth, sister Betsy Lueth (Brian) and niece Lucy, step siblings Becky Olson, Brian Menth, Mary Singh, and Johnny Menth and step nieces and nephews Glen Olson, Mike, Megan, Becky, Sadie and Tatiana Menth, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Dave’s family extended to so many more, including many very special friends. Dave will be deeply missed for his smile and laughter that accompanied him everywhere he went. Private memorial service. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials in Dave’s name to Urban Ventures Youth Sports Program in Minneapolis at www.urbanventures.org.
