Kleinschmidt, Dean Boyce (89), of Plymouth, MN. Died at home on May 1 st. He was born in Mankato MN. He graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Civil Engineering in 1956 and served with the Army Corp of Engineers until 1962. Dean married Robinette (Bobbie) Rykken in 1955 and started an exciting career that took him all over the world, yet he still found time to serve as Mayor of Wayzata from 1975-1976. He retired from Cargill in 1993. Dean made time for the important things; his family, friends and many diverse interests and talents. At times he seemed part magician, whether growing a beautiful garden or producing beautiful woven fabrics from a single strand of thread. The fish feared him, landscapers envied him and his friends and family cherished his generous hugs, his ability to find humor in anything and his thoughtful capacity to lead. Dean will be missed by all who heard his powerful voice – as well as those who listened intently to his whisper. He is preceded in death by his wife Bobbie and survived by daughters Mary (Jerry) and Kim (Gregg), his wonderful partner, Harriet Carlson, four grandchildren (Erik, Kim, Amy and Joel and their spouses) and 10 great grandchildren. The memorial service will be limited to family. Memorials preferred to Dystonia Medical Research Foundation.
