Donald Boylan Obituary

Boylan, Donald Keith,79, of Long Lake, passed away Tuesday, November13, 2012, after a brief bout with pneumonia. He had struggled with atypical Parkinsonism for several years. Boylan was born August 4, 1933, in Charles City, Iowa. Mr. Boylan leaves behind his high school sweetheart and treasured wife of 58 years, Bonnie (Wulff) Boylan. Boylan was the Orono High School boys' basketball coach for 30 years. He also taught mathematics and was Orono's first cross-country coach. He was very active in Calvin Presbyterian Church of Long Lake. Mr. Boylan also leaves son and daughter-in-law Steven and Jodi (Cobb) Boylan of Watertown; daughter Kathleen Boylan of Bradenton Beach, FL, and daughter and son-in-law Susan (Boylan) and Lowell Seashore of Maple Plain.He also is survived by his beloved grandchildren: Katie (Walker) McNaughton, her husband John and their baby daughter Addley; Andrew Walker; Erin Boylan, and several young people the Boylans consider their grandchildren. Also surviving are siblings and in-laws James Boylan and Betsy Wade; Mary Ann (Boylan) Bernhard and Ralph Parker; Beverly (Wulff) and Junior Moeller; sister-in-law Sharla Boylan and George Ross, and many nieces and nephews with whom he was close. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Clifford and Irene (Imus) Boylan, and brother Charles Boylan. The funeral is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at Calvin Presbyterian, 177 Glendale Drive, Long Lake. Visitation will be held at the church Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Orono Foundation for Education, Box 124, Maple Plain, MN 55359.
