Donald Louis
Hoffmann, age 71, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2013 surrounded by family members. Don was a faithful friend to
many. He was a son and brother, who was well
loved by his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Dorothy Hoffmann and infant brother Charles.He is survived by daughter Nichole (Luke) Gustafson, brothers Stephen and James, sisters Karen (Wayne) Eastby and Kathryn (Tom) Ireland, and granddaughter Breese Gustafson, nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.He attended elementary school in Delhi, MN and Junior and Senior High School at Belview, MN, graduating in 1960. Following graduation, he joined the Peace Corps and served in Punjab, India, as a trainer in agricultural and industrial engineering. He then served in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1966 and was proud to serve his country. Don worked in construction in California. He also spent a year as foreman for restaurant construction projects across the country. He was accomplished at wood-working and took pride in his work. Don maintained a life-long passion for aviation and horses. He was an experiencedpilot of small planes and helped author a book on the holistic care of horses. He most recently resided in San Marcos, CA.A service celebrating Don's life will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, April 26 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Long Lake, MN. Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN. Memorials preferred to the family.
