Dorothy M. Elliot Obituary

Elliot, Dorothy Maxine, Missionary, age 97, went to her heavenly home on January 17th, 2011. Preceded in death by parents Roy and Edith Elliot; brother Kenneth and half sister Audrey. Survived by nephews Robert (Mari) Elliot & Michael (Peggy); great nieces and nephews; special cousins, Marcia, Debbie & Lucia Stubbs, her Mexico family, the Lopez family in Texas and many loving relatives & friends. Dorothy grew up both in Minnesota and at her uncle's ranch in Wyoming. In 1950 Dorothy went to Bolivia as a missionary with Child Evangelism Fellowship. She later went to Chile & Oaxaca, Mexico, then in 1972 she founded Child Evangelism work in Monterrey, Mexico, where she remained after her retirement until 2004. A special Thank You to Golden Living Center in Delano, where Dorothy received loving care in her last years. Memorial Service 11:00 a.m. Saturday Jan. 22, at Maple Plain Community Church, 1815 Budd Ave. N. Maple Plain. Prayer service 9:30 a.m. Jan. 22, at Rettinger Funeral Home, Long Lake, followed by interment, 9:45 at Union Cemetery, Long Lake. Memorials will be directed by the family.
