Douglas A. Dion, age 87, passed away peacefully at home with his family on November 12th. Although Doug spent his career as an elementary school teacher in Minneapolis. His great passions in life were his loving wife Lois of 59 years, and the sea.  He joined the United States Coast Guard immediately after High School and served aboard a cruiser in the North Atlantic. He owned several boats and was happiest when he and Lois were sailing on Lake Superior with family, friends, and the other members of the Apostle Island Yacht Club. He traveled the world extensively and enjoyed sharing his memories and experiences with all of us.  His smile made our day and brought everyone great joy.
