Joswick, Earl B. age 87 of Wayzata, passed away on Deceber 21, 2010. Survived by wife Florence; son, Paul (Lisa) and grandson Dylan; brother, John and sister Betty Ann. Earl was born and raised in Dephaven. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps and was part of a 10 man crew that flew in the 95th Bomb Group in B-17's during WWII. The first B 17's over Berlin, he flew 14 missions as a Turret Gunner. Shot down and shot as he parachuted to the ground, he was captured and spent 14 months in Stalag IV. During his capture he endured a march across Germany in the winter of 44-45. After the war he worked 30 years at Rettinger Ford in Wayzata. He managed a catring company in Wayzata,and later owned a driving and car parking service, which he continued to the end. Earl was very active in all veterans organizations. He spoke at schools of his adventures. Earl enjoyed telling stories of his life and visiting with his many friends. He was fortunate to travel to Europe the last 2 years with his combat buddies. Earl will be greatly missed by everyone. Funeral Service 11:30 A.M. Wednesday December 29th, at Rettinger Funeral Home, 425 Lake Street, Long Lake. Visitation Tuesday Dec. 28th 4-8 P.M. and 1 hour prior to service. Intermant, Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
