Gregory Ehalt

Ehalt, Gregory Joseph age 90 of Orono. Passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 4, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. Greg was preceded in death by Rosemarie, his wife of 59 years. Greg was born on a farm in St. Bonifacius, MN and enjoyed the hard work of living on a farm. After high school he enlisted in the Navy and served honorably in the Korean War. Upon returning, he attended Tri State University in Indiana where he received his engineering degree. Greg began his career in the computer industry and worked his way up to becoming president of a plastic manufacturing company. Greg was dedicated to his family and enjoyed bringing them camping, skiing, golfing, and especially boating. Greg designed and built a beautiful home for his family and prided himself on being able to fix anything. He was a dedicated parishioner, member of the Orono Lions and Knights of Columbus. Survived by children, Brian Ehalt (Barbara), Ramona Bergstrom (Paul), Bruce Ehalt, Heidi Ehalt, Brad Ehalt (Ruth); grandchildren, Janessa, Luke, Danielle, Natalie, Ian, Emma, Max; eight great grandchildren and many loving relatives and friends. Visitation is open to all, Friday April 9, 5-7 PM and Saturday, April 10, 9-10 AM at Rettinger Funeral Home, 425 Lake St. Long Lake. Social distancing enforced. Family service, St. George Church, Long Lake Saturday April 10 @ 10:30 AM. Memorials may be directed to St. George Church, 133 Brown Rd. Long Lake.
