Harriet Swanson Obituary

Swanson, Harriet Ann age 84, of Long Lake, MN, passed away peace- fully on Dec. 29, 2019, surrounded by family. She was born April 21, 1935 in Hunter, ND. She is preceded in death by husband, Darwin, parents, Harry and Martha Korup, sister, Marsha and brother in law Raymond Ingamells, brother, Marvel Korup and grandson, Wesley Jensen. Survived by sister in law, Sheila Korup, brother in law, Sig Swanson, daughters, Barbara (James) Gould, Bonnie (Scott) Peterson, Brenda (Kevin) Kisrow, Cheryl (Tom) Vaaler, Dana (Gary) Jensen, son, Daniel, 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Harriet was employed by Blake Schools in Food Service for over 21 years. She was an active member of Calvin Presbyterian Church of Long Lake for almost 60 years, serving as a Deacon and Elder, member of Presbyterian Women Missions, bible study groups and circles. She was also active with the Greyhound Retiree Association. Harriet loved to read, follow MN sports teams, crochet blankets for mission work, enjoy family gatherings playing cards and Scrabble. She was loved and will be missed by family and many friends. Memorial service will be held at Calvin Presbyterian Church, 177 Glendale Dr. Long Lake, MN 55356 on Saturday January 11th, 2020 at 1pm. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service with a light lunch to follow. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers.
