Jacqueline Agnes Shaughnessy

Jacqueline Agnes Shaughnessy, 92, passed away 4/8/22. Born 1/23/30 to Edward F. Smith and Ellen Agnes (Nell) Smith, nee Rogers. Graduated Belle Plaine HS 1947. Married Gerald (G.T.) Shaughnessy 6/24/48. They raised a family of five in Long Lake, where she did bookkeeping for Long Lake Ford Tractor, the family business. She worked at Orono Schools in numerous capacities during the 60’s and 70’s. She was a member of Long Lake Fire Dept. Auxiliary and the Orono PTA.  In the early 80s they retired to Mesa, Arizona, where they enjoyed hosting family, and many friends. She returned to Minnesota in 2015. Her Catholic faith was displayed in her many roles with churches she attended, and her compassion and grace which she passes on to her family. She was preceded in death by her parents Ed and Nell, husband GT, son-in-law Jeff Johnson and daughter Colleen Shaughnessy. She is survived by daughters Carmen Shaughnessy Johnson, Shannon Shaughnessy (Dave Kosel), sons Michael E. and Kelly (Lona), son-in-law Dennis Turney and his children, and by grandchildren Riley, Jesse, Joana (Shawn), Megan (Kurt), Dan (Wendy), Colin (Elisha), Kerri (Ryan), Erin (Patrick), Michael P. and by 16 great grandchildren. Special thanks to her many care givers at Cerenity Senior Care Marion St. Paul, MN. Memorials preferred to Orono Foundation for Education or Servants of the Word. Visitation 5pm to 8pm on Tuesday the 12th at Rettinger’s. Fellowship and stories at 7pm. Funeral Wednesday at St. George Catholic Church, Long Lake. Reviewal at 9:30, Mass at 10:30 followed by luncheon then burial at St. George Cemetery. Masks are requested.
