James Schneider Obituary

James J. Schneider of New Hope MN died on July 23, 2022 at age 100. Jim was born on June 29, 1922 in Mankato MN to Joseph O Schneider and Lauretta (Enright) Schneider.  The family lived in North Mankato MN until 1936, then moved to Cannon Falls MN where Jim attended high school. He served in the combat engineers corps in World War II and participated in the Battle of the Bulge and other European Theater campaigns. Upon completing his military service, he took advantage of the GI Bill to attend St. Thomas College in St. Paul MN and graduated in 1947. Later that year he married Maxine Mahoney of Randolph MN. Jim was a Sales Rep for Moore Business Forms for many years. Jim and Maxine raised their family in  North Mankato MN. He retired in 1985 and he and Maxine moved to Casa Grande AZ.  Maxine passed away in 1995. Jim returned to Minnesota in 2016 in order to be closer to his family. He has lived at St. Therese of New Hope from 2016 to his death and made many friends while living there. Jim is survived by son Larry of Parker's Prairie, MN; daughter Rose Mary (John) Kehner of Maple Grove MN; daughter MaryAnn (Paul) Wiborg of Long Lake MN; five grandchildren – Stacy (Victor) Ortiz of Crystal MN, Kris (Bonnie) Kehner of Woodbury, Justin (Carol) of Blaine MN;  Shayla (Colin) Floyd of Minnetonka, and Jeff (Maureeca) Wiborg of Lake Crystal MN. Eleven great-grandchildren,  Jordan , Ali , Kassie , Lydia, Sydney, Ben , Alice, Arlo, Jack , Elijah  and Graham. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Maxine, and two infant children, Thomas and Mary Helen. Private Family Services.
