Janice Schauls

Janice Schauls, 74, passed away peacefully Sunday, February 28th, 2021. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Janice was born May 30, 1946 in Elgin, ND to Alice (Klein) and Erwin Roth. She grew up on the family farm with her mom and stepdad Wesley Niederman, graduating high school in Elgin, ND. After graduation she moved to Minneapolis and married Richard Schauls and had two children. She completed her teaching degree at the UofM and taught home economics in the Osseo school district and culinary arts to students at the Hubert Humphrey Job Corp. Janice loved spending time with family. She also enjoyed gardening, baking, fishing, crafting, playing cards, bingo and Yahtzee. Janice spent the last 15 years at Long Lake Assisted Living.
She was very strong in faith and an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Janice was preceded in death by her parents. She will be missed by her daughters: Monteen (Brett) Collins and Kelly (Rachael) Peterson, sisters: Shirla Humiston, Seguin, TX, Joleen (Ron) Carlson, Mound, MN, Joann (Eric) Kirschenbaum, Warrensburg, MO, brother Wes (Leslie) Niederman, Elgin, ND, Jim Roth, San Diego, CA, grandchildren: Taryn and Rylee Collins and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Remembered forever… In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Long Lake Assisted Living, 345 North Brown Road, Long Lake, MN 55356.
