Jerome (Jerry) Ree

Jerome “Jerry” Ree, age 87, of Maple Plain, passed away peacefully at Haven Homes Assisted Living and Memory Care.Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Waldo and Theodora. He is survived by his children, J.R. and Janelle (Andrew); his grandchildren, Samantha and Dylan; his former wife, JoAnn; and many dear friends and family.

Raised in Montevideo, Jerry later made his home in Maple Plain, where he spent his adult life and became a familiar and valued member of the community. He built a successful career in sales, earning national recognition and awards for his achievements. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Jerry was a man of strong convictions who valued friendship deeply.

A proud member of Tonka Alano, Jerry celebrated sobriety since 1987, an accomplishment he held with great pride. His commitment to personal growth and supporting others was a defining part of his life.

Jerry was also actively involved in fraternal organizations, including being a proud member of Mound Masonic Lodge No. 320 for 60 years, The Scottish Rite of Freemasonry since 1972 and the Zurah Shrine. He found joy in service and camaraderie through these groups.

Jerry had a deep love for classic cars, especially Pontiacs, and took great pride in his collection. He was a member of the Pontiac-Oakland Club International and the Minnesota Street Rod Association, where he enjoyed sharing his passion with fellow enthusiasts. 

Committed to his community, Jerry was a member of the Lions Clubs International through the Maple Plain Lions Club and served on the Maple Plain City Council. 

Jerry found purpose and pride in driving bus for Orono Schools, supporting all students and athletes, and mentoring others as a bus driver trainer.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff at Haven Homes Assisted Living and Memory Care and Triniti Home Health and Hospice for their exemplary care and support.

Jerry will be remembered for his strong spirit, his dedication to those around him, and the meaningful life he built through perseverance, service, and connection.

A visitation will be held Friday, May 15, 2026, from 4:30–7:30 p.m., with a Masonic Service at 6:00 p.m. at Rettinger Funeral Home, 425 Lake Street, Long Lake, MN 55356.

A funeral service will take place Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, 5084 Main Street East, Maple Plain, MN 55359, with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Memorials in lieu of flowers are preferred to the Tonka Alano Society, 5098 Three Points Blvd, Mound, MN 55364.
