John Eyres Obituary

Eyres, John (Jack) age 80 of Maple Plain, went to heaven on March 2, 2013 surrounded by family and friends, after a courageous battle against angiosarcoma. Jack was born June 4, 1932 in LeMars, IA, to Charles and Florence Eyres who preceded him death. He graduated from Hopkins High School in 1951, was married to Marge Edin in 1963 and worked at Northwestern Bell Telephone Company for 38 years. retiring in 1990. He and Marge enjoyed camping and traveling around the U.S. throughout their marriage, from honeymoon trip to Banff/Jasper, to their travels to prominent museums and National Parks with their young sons, to later trips with their 5th wheel trailer to meet with the Minnesota Christian Campers and to visit their children in California and Idaho. Jack was largely a self taught handy man who loved to solve problems and repair anything, whether in his own home or somewhere in the wider community. Jack enjoyed reading and keeping himself informed about the news and issues of the day. He was a long time member of the Maple Plain Community Church and served in various positions over the years. He is survived by his wife, Marge; sons, Loren and Dean; a sister, Beverly; brothers-in-law, Graydon Watts (Joy), Kenneth Edin (Thelma); sister-in-law, Pat Fries (Gaylord); and nieces and nephews. Visitation Saturday March 9, 2013 at 10 AM with a memorial service following at 11:00 AM at Maple Plain Community Church, 1815 Budd Avenue, Maple Plain. Private interment. Memorials are preferred to Maple Plain Community Church or American Cancer society.
