Joseph Mrkonich Obituary

Mrkonich, Joseph W. age 83 of Minnetrista, formerly of Duluth, Thief River falls, Siren(WI) and eveleth. Son of Marko and Anna Mrkonich. Born on June 25, 1927 and died on April 14, 2011. survived by his wife of 58 years, Arlene, and children Marko (Bobbi) of Long Lake, MN, Betty (David Hirschfeld), Jr.) of Frisco, TX, and Kathryn (Bruce Wilson) of Minnetrista, MN, and five grandchildren, Joseph and Robert Mrkonich, Davey and Katy Hirschfeld, and Eric Wilson. Graduate of Eveleth High school and the University of Minnesota-Duluth. served in the U.S. Navy in WWII. Long-time teacher and coach, retiring from Duluth East in 1987. Funeral Mass at the Church of St. George (133 S. Brown Rd. Long Lake) 11:00 Am Monday April 18. Memorials to Joseph W. Mrkonich Scholarship Fund, C/O the Noper Foundation, 215 East 78th Street, Bloomington, MN 55420 or the University of Minnesota Hospital's Minnesota Medical Foundation.
