Joseph James Mechavich, 91 years old, passed away peacefully on Oct 2, 2023. He was a husband, best friend, and confidante to Sharon Mechavich for 48 years, father to JoJo (and Brondon) and Andy Mechavich (wife Toni), and Grandpa to AJ Mechavich. Joe was a Veteran of the Korean War. Joe worked for decades as a salesman for InSinkErator covering Minnesota and the Dakotas. Prior to that he travelled the country representing a bathroom fixture company (he actually had a toilet seat in his briefcase). He coached middle school soccer, was a master at the grill, crossword puzzle expert, ornithologist, hater of squirrels, lover of pickled herring (gross), caregiver to many extended family members, and an exceptional whistler. Joe is finally with Sharon who passed away in 2017. The two can now enjoy bottomless cups coffee while pondering endless crosswords. We assume he will continue the tradition of singing the opening bars of “Volare” every day around 9am. Joey and Andy wish to express overwhelming gratitude for the “Neilson Ave Family” (Sue, Steve, Peg, Paul, Lisa, and Ralph) for always being there for our dad. There will be a brief service at Fort Snelling National Cemetery on November 20th at 10:00 a.m.
