Kathryn Mary Joy (Miller) Day, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 23, 2026, surrounded by her family. Kathy was born at Eitel Hospital in Minneapolis, MN on July 10, 1942. She was the daughter of Harold and Elizabeth (Spielmann) Miller. Kathy attended the Guardian Angels Catholic School in Chaska, MN. After school, she married Lyle Howard Day and were happily together for over 46 years. They raised four children in Minnetonka, Long Lake, and Plymouth. Kathy worked as a bank teller for Northwestern National Bank, was a Long Lake Police Department Matron, stay-at-home mom, in-home day care, delivered the sun-sailor newspaper, and then became a rural mail carrier for the Long Lake Post Office. She was a proud member of the Wayzata American Legion Auxiliary. Kathy enjoyed fishing, crossword puzzles, bingo, ceramics, playing cards, card club, and having lunch with her friends. Her greatest happiness was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Elizabeth Miller, brothers: Harold Miller, Gene Miller, John Miller, sister; Joan Wenneson, brother-in-law Richard Wenneson, sister-in-law Irene Miller, grandson-in-law Eric Koepp, and former husband, Lyle Day. Kathy is survived by her children: Becky Krueger (Tim Hall), Pam Hopp (Ronnie), Janet Brown and Howard Day. Grandchildren: Ellie Fee (Jake), Kyle Krueger (Justine), Katie Brown (Jake), Jack Sueker, Joey Sueker, Sadie Haben, Great-Grandchildren: Sophia Fee, Kasey and Kolson Koepp, Bennett, Oliver and Zoey Brown, and countless family and friends.

Services to be held at The Church of St. George, Long Lake, MN. Visitation is August 3, 2026 from 4:00-7:00pm with the rosary starting at 6:30pm. Funeral services on August 4, 2026 at 11:00am, with visitation starting one hour before. A private family burial planned at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those wishing to honor Kathy consider a donation to the family, Church of St. George, or Wayzata American Legion Auxiliary.
