Kenneth Johnson Obituary

Born on February 2, 1925 to John and Mary Edna (Munson) Johnson, Ken grew up in Parker's Lake, MN with his big brother "Roy". He attended school in Wayzata, MN where he lettered in football and was active in student government.
In 1943, at the University of Illinois, he was enrolled in the Navy V-12 program and graduated as an Ensign and Electrical Engineer. In 1946 he was assigned to the USS SKAGIT (AKA 105) and was a post war member of the Naval Reserves and US Coast Guard Auxillary.

Ken married Myra Safford (whom he met at U of I) on February 15, 1948 in Farmington, Ill. They settled in Long Lake, MN and later in Sedalia, CO with their five children. Ken designed the Presbyterian church in Sedalia and was a church elder. As an electrical engineer, he specialized in circuit board design and early day computers. Several years were spent on their orchard in Bigfork, MT before moving to Superior, MT. He has resided at the Montana State Veterans Home for the last 2 1/2 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Myra and brother Roy.
Survivors include sons; Steve (Gloria) and Bruce (Lynn), sisters; Karen, Adrienne (George) and Melissa (Dana), 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

A viewing ( 4-5 pm) and service (5 pm) will be held at the Columbia Mortuary (Columbia Falls, MT), Friday August 23rd. Burial to follow at Parker's Lake, MN 2 pm Monday, August 26th.
