Norman A. Clapsaddle Obituary

Clapsaddle, Norman Anthony Age 84 of Maple Plain, passed away on February 11, 2025. Born at home on the family farm in Bancroft, Iowa, Norman developed an early love of the outdoors and working in the yard. He was known for his abundant fruit and vegetable gardens. His family moved to Clear Lake, Wisconsin where he graduated high school and enlisted in the Air Force. As a member of the 317 th Tactical Airlift Wing, he was stationed in Europe which inspired his love for travel. He enjoyed taking his family camping and fishing with trips across the US and Europe in later years. Norman developed a passion for growing grapes and making wine, sharing his knowledge with others though starting a wine making club in his community. His big smile, random acts of kindness and fondness for ‘seeing what you can see’ will be missed. Norman is survived by his sister, Sally Drexler, children, Diane, Jeanine (Marilyn Rateike), Teresa (Chris Sankey), Michael, Brian (Jenica), grandchildren Andrew Kottke (June), Marissa Gerold (Alton), Nikolas Dainsberg, Leon and Declan Clapsaddle, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Janet Clapsaddle (Indrelie), father, Leon, mother Marie (Lappe), sisters, Joan Leyton and Lisa Froelich.
