Perry, Richard W. Jr. "Rick" age 71 of Long Lake, MN, passed away January 22, 2021. He was born December 17, 1949 in Minneapolis. Rick was a creative, generous, loving and sometimes stubborn man who was always willing to help his family, friends and community in any way he could. He wore many hats in his life, both literally and figuratively. He worked at/owned Perry's Truck Repair and Towing for the past 56 years. He loved to work and be at the "shop". Always thinking of ways to create, build and fix things. He was a longtime member of the Long Lake Fire Department (42 years). He continued to serve by cooking at the Pancake Breakfasts on the rotating griddles he, his son and son-in-law built. He loved to cook, but only in mass quantities. Rick enjoyed cruising in one of his classic cars and talking about the adventures of how he found, bought and/or restored them. He enjoyed time with friends and family, talking "smart" and having a good time. Rick loved going to the cabin and sitting around the table having breakfast with his family. Always had a project he was thinking about and how we were going to accomplish it...not always the "easy" way. Rick always said, "You gotta get up and keep moving." Rick is dearly missed and survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Deb, son Richard III "Rick" (Sarah), daughter Stacy (Josh) Nelson, grandsons Richard IV "Will" and Lucas Perry, his mom Jean Perry, brother Bob (Kim), sister Sue (Bill) Reed and their families. Rick was preceded in death by his dad Richard Sr. "Minnow" Perry. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 16, 2021, 2-7pm at Rustique Barn 3527 US 12, Delano, MN. Memorial Tribute at 4pm with food and beverages to follow.
