Roxanne Ezell, age 77 of Orono, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 28, 2026. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Ezell and parents Earl and Ardath Fredrickson. She graduated from Carleton College in 1970 and earned an M. A. degree in music at the University of Iowa where she met Roger. They were married in 1972, and their son, David James, was born four years later. Roxanne also earned a degree in computer science and for twenty-five years worked as a programmer/analyst and technical consultant for firms in Chillicothe, Missouri and in the Twin Cities. She gave voice and piano lessons and directed the choir of Calvin Presbyterian Church (Long Lake) until her retirement in 2014. Throughout her life, Roxanne sang beautifully, whether in duets with Roger, in recitals, in community theatre, and in various choirs including that of Plymouth Congregational Church. She loved to write, read, and exchange ideas about prose, poetry, and life itself.

She was a devoted mother, wife, sister, and friend. She is survived by her son, David; her brother, David Fredrickson and her sister-in-law, Jana Martin; her nephews Jason King, Brian King, Mark Fredrickson (Devin), her niece Anne Fredrickson (Ben Daniels); five great-nephews and-nieces; and many loving friends.
