William J. Schopf

Schopf, William J. Passed away January 14, 2012 at his home in Marina del Rey, CA in the company of his wife, Elizabeth and his daughter Dorothea, and his brother, Brad Schopf. Born August 4, 1971 in Edina, Minnesota, William graduated from Orono High School, class of 1989. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota where he was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He went on to earn his MBA from the University of Southern California. An avid sports fan and traveler, Bill explored the world and lived in cities as varied as Santiago, Chile, Miami, Florida and then finally, Los Angeles, CA. William was respected and admired for his focused work ethic, adventurous spirit and profound love for his family and friends. He is survived by his wife , Elizabeth and their daughter Dorothea, of Marina del Rey, CA; brother Brad Schopf, sister Jennifer Martin, mother and step-father Margaret and Bob Chase, and father James Schopf, all of Minnetonka, MN. He will be missed by more friends than one could possibly count. There is comfort derived from the fact that he is now in heaven with his late brother, Brian Schopf. Funeral Service Thursday 11:00 a.m. at St. Martins by the Lake Episcopal Church, 2801 Westwood Road, Minnetonka Beach. Visitation Wed. Jan 18, 5:00-7:00 pm at Rettinger Funeral Home, Long Lake and 1 hour prior to service at church.
