William L. Reiser Obituary

William Leonard Reiser
June 18, 1934 – June 8, 2025 Bill was born to William and Eleanor Reiser on June 18, 1934, in Medina, MN. He grew up in the Medina area and attended Beacon Heights Elementary School in Plymouth,MN and graduated from Holy Name School, Wayzata, MN. Bill worked from a young age setting pins at The Buckhorn restaurant and bowling alley in Long Lake, MN. He served honorably in the U.S. Army from 1955 – 1958. Upon discharge he returned to Long Lake and continued to work at The Buckhorn, Rettinger’s gas station, and also as a school bus driver. On February 13, 1960, Bill married Mary Lou Walter at St. Wenceslaus Church in New Prague, MN. The couple lived in the communities of Long Lake, Plymouth, and Jordan where they owned the Jordan Café and Bill’s Grocery. They returned to Medina where they had made their home for the past 55 years. Bill worked at Thorpe Distributing from 1969 until his retirement in 1996. In retirement, he enjoyed coffee and cribbage with his local friends.
Bill was a passionate Twins baseball fan. He also loved watching his grandsons play baseball and various other sports. Bill served his community as a member of the Medina City Council from 1975 – 1983 and was active in the Hamel VFW Post 5903. Bill is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary Lou; his children, Jeff Reiser of Minnetrista, MN, Tim (Melissa) Reiser of Delafield, WI, Ron Reiser of Long Lake, MN, Bill (Jodi) Reiser of Long Lake, MN; four grandsons, Zachary Reiser, Reikley Reiser, Nolan Reiser and Campbell Reiser; brother, Larry (Dorothy) Reiser, Grand Rapids, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Eleanor Reiser and his siblings; Jerry (Janice) Reiser, Grand Rapids, MN, George (Jean) Reiser, Arizona, and Rita (Arthur) Jubert, Hamel, MN.
